Post Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jobbar said, Programming is now the highest paid profession in the world and he urged the Bangladeshi girls to come forward in this sector to take digital Bangladesh a head. He said this while distributing prizes among the winners of 3rd National Girls Programming Competition 2018 organized by Daffodil International University on October 22, 2018 at 71-Milonayoton of the university.

 "On Education Training" is the third phase for the degree of BTHM (not mandatory, like co-curricular activity) which is designed and implemented first time in Daffodil International University about a couple of years ago. Under this phase simultaneously a student continue his training in any 5 star hotel, resort, club or any other tourism industry along with his/ her study for 4 months or more according to the need of the industry. So that he/she can relate his course work with real life situation. 

Here first time students get chance to involve themselves with Pan Pacific Sonargaon on payment basis which would obviously motivate them to step for further opportunity. 

Professor Ar. Khairul Enam, Head, Department of Architecture of Daffodil International University has been honored with Crown Izonil, a premium product of Crown Cement Group along with six other Pioneer Teachers of Architecture Education in Bangladesh with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award at a function held at Institute of Architects Bangladesh( IAB) Center in the capital on October 5, 2018.

Team 'Law Capella' consisting of Nazia Afroz Ananna and Mahmudul Hasan Araf of Department of Law of Daffodil International University has won 'Best Research Award' and 'Best Argumentative Skill Award' in the National Law Olympiad 2.0 organized by the Society for Critical Legal Studies (SCLS) of University of Chittagong.

8 October 2018 was the 1st Death Anniversary of Khondoker Abu Talha,  a student of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) department of Daffodil International University. The management, faculty members and employees of Daffodil International University expressed deep condolence at the premature death of Khondoker Abu Talha and conveyed sympathy to bereaved family members.
Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director ( Student Affairs) to day visited his Gopibag residence in the capital and met with his father and other family members.  

To mark the second death anniversary of Syed Shamsul Haq, a versatile writer of Bangladesh, a remembering program titled ‘Respect and Remembrance of Syed Haq’ held at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University on 30 September 2018. Organized by Daffodil Literature Club.The program was addressed by Mr. Syed Abul Moksud, renowned columnist and researcher as the chief guest.

Psychological Service Center of Students’ Affairs of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a seminar titled ‘Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World’ to mark “World Mental Health Day-2018’ today on 14 October, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Ms. Mahjabeen Haque, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology, University of Dhaka was present at the seminar as the keynote speaker.

The Complaint Committee to Prevent Sexual Harassment of Daffodil International University and Bangladesh Mahila Parishad jointly organized a seminar and exchange meeting titled ‘The directives of High Court Division regarding sexual harassment and prevention’ on 25 October 2018 at 71 Milonayoton. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University was present at the program as the Chief Guest while Madam Aysha Khanam, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad was present as the Guest of Honor.

A Seminar on ‘Ethics in Our Life’ was organized by DIU Textile Club on 6 October 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present in the program as the chief guest while Dr. Manzur-E-Elahi, Associate Professor, Dept. of Islamic Studies of National University, Gazipur was present as the keynote speaker of the seminar.

Dr. Wajuppa Tossa, an international storyteller and Visiting Professor of the Department of English of DIU, conducted a workshop on “Effective Ways of Storytelling” on 10 October 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Room No. 511 of DT. Dr. Tossa is a retired Professor from Mahasarakham University, Thailand. She is a highly acclaimed storyteller and academician of international reputation.

A team of 20 faculty members from 5 different schools of Bangladesh Open University (BOU) has attended a 2-day long comprehensive training on “G-Suite”. The second day of the training was held at the Permanent Campus of Daffodil International University. Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, has conducted the training as the Lead Trainer.

An Orientation Program for the newly admitted Master of Public Health (MPH) students of Fall-2018 Semester was held on September 22, 2018 at Banquet Hall of Daffodil Tower, DIU. Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) was present as the Chief Guest. The inaugural session of the program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Harun-Ar- Rashid, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health, DIU. All the Faculty Members of the Department were present in the Orientation Program.

Tourism & Hospitality Management Department of Daffodil International University has celebrated its 5th Anniversary on 10 October 2018 with colorful events including cake cutting, discussion meeting and cultural program at Banquet Hall of the university. Speakers on the program said that tourism and hospitality management is a thrust and rapidly growing sector in Bangladesh. Lots of skilled people are needed in this sector to flourish it, but the number of skilled manpower is very limited as per requirement. To mitigate this huge demand of skilled manpower, national and international organizations have to come forward besides government initiatives, they added.

Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (DIE) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Founder Institute, Inc. (FII) on 22 September 2018 in Daffodil Business Incubator Conference Room to support and collaborate each other for developing an Entrepreneurial Eco-system.

To mark the World Food Day 2018 Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering (NFE) of Daffodil International University (DIU) in collaboration with Northern Consumers Products Ltd. organized a seminar and brought out a rally on 16 October 2018. 

The clubs from the Permanent Campus of Daffodil International University  organized two days long Club Carnival  on 23rd & 24th October, 2018. Two thousand students from 14 different Clubs participated in this event. All the clubs demonstrated their activities in a unique and creative way during the carnival.

Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University based on the slogan “Being a human, contribute to Humanity” organized a seminar on ‘Autism : Understand, Be Aware’ at Daffodil International University on 7 October, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Mr. Nahim Razzaq, MP, Convener of Young Bangla and Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Youth and Sports was present at the seminar as the chief guest while Professor Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul-Haque Majumdar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the special guest.

Daffodil International University hosted the largest national level English debate tournament of Bangladesh, the XV BDC Pre WSDC 2018 from September 27-29, 2018, along with the central governing body for English Debate in the country, Bangladesh Debating Council (BDC).
