‘2nd Innovadeous DIU Club Carnival-2019’

32 ClubS of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized two day long ‘Innovadeous DIU Club Carnival-2019’ from March 27028, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of DIU inaugurated the carnival today on March 27, 2019 as the chief guest while Professor A. M.M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science was present as the special guest. Country’s renowned actor, director and writer Gazi Rakayet, eminent lyricist Kabir Bakul, Famous Cartoonist & editor of Unmad magazine Ahsan Habib, President of Prothom Alo Bondhushava central committee Mr. Saiduzzaman Raushan, choreographer and dancer Ms. Farhana Choudhury Baby, young writer Kingkan Ahsan, Managing Director of Innovadeus Mehedi Hasan, Head of operation Khan Md. Nakib Shadhin, Head of HR & Admin of Roxi Paints Mr. Habib Ullah Babu were present as the guest of honors. Presided over by Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Student Affairs of DIU, the program was also addressed by Professor Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship, Mr. Mahbub Perviz, Head, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Allayear, Head, Department of Multimedia & Creative Technology (MCT).

 
8th Convocation of Daffodil Int. University

Daffodil International University (DIU) holds its 8th convocation with colorful events today on 13 March 2019 at permanent campus of the university, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka. Delegated by Md. Abdul Hamid, Honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of DIU, Dr. Dipu Moni M.P, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh presided over the convocation ceremony and conferred the degrees. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was present as the special guest in the convocation. Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President, SIAM University, Bangkok, Thailand attended the convocation as the Convocation Speaker. The convocation ceremony was also addressed by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Board of Trustees and Professor Dr. Yousfuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro VC, Professor Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, Dean, FAHS, Professor A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, FHSS, Professor Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Doctor Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship.
In the 8th Convocation a total number 5631 students wasconferred upon graduation and post-graduation degrees and among them 17 best result oriented graduates were awarded ‘Gold Medal’ in different categories.

International University (DIU) have agreed to work together to develop the retired officers as entrepreneurs to cope up with the civil life and contribute to the nation and national economy even after retirement. They will also focus on creating school franchise all over the country to disseminate and ensure quality education all over the country. Both parties will also jointly work on traffic management and providetraining to the police and govt. authority across the country. DIU is offering ten percent (10%) tuition fee waiver in addition to regular waiver in DIU for the firstblood & spouses of the RAOWA members and RAOWA nominated armed force member’s son and daughter. You are cordially invited to join the ceremony.

‘Bangabandhu Child Robotics Fest-2019’ held marking National Children’s Day at Daffodil International University

Daffodil International University (DIU) and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BDOSN) jointly organized a daylong program for the children titled ‘Bangabandhu Child Robotics Fest-2019’yesterday on 18 March 2019 at 71Milonayoton of the university marking the 99th Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, honorable State Minister, ICT Division was present at the closing and prize giving ceremony as the chief guest while Ms. Luna Shamsuddoha, Chairman of Janata Bank and Mr. Shahidul Monir, Director, Bangladesh Computer Council was present as the special guest. Presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU the program was also addressed by Mr. Munir Hasan, General Secretary of BDOSN.

 
March of ‘Mom-Preneure: Mothers will be Self-Reliant’ at Daffodil International University

For the first time in the country, “Mom-Preneur: Mother will be Self- Reliant”, a special initiative of Daffodil International School and Daffodil International University to empower the kids Mom was launched today on 10 March, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Ms. Selima Ahmad, MP, President of BWCCI inaugurated the program as the chief guest while Mrs. Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director (Secretary), Bangladesh High Tech Park was present as the special guest. Presided over by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family the program was also addressed by Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Policy Expart, a2i project, Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, Dr. Md Mahmudul Hassan, Principal, Daffodil International School. The program was conducted by KM Hasan Ripon, Advisor, BSDI.

 
Workshop on "Building Awareness on Orientation of SA Process Flow among 9 new SACs of IQAC of DIU"

A workshop on "Building Awareness on Orientation of SA Process Flow among 9 new SACs of IQAC of DIU" was held on March 27, 2019 at Conference Room, DT-4, Daffodil International University (DIU). The programme was organized by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DIU. The event aims to provide orientation and proper guideline on Self-Assessment Process Flow for 9 (nine) SA Departments, which are as: Department of: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Multimedia & Creative Technology, Environmental Science and Disaster Management, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Public Health, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Development Studies, Information Science and Library Management. Conveners and members of 9 SA Committee were present.

 
DIU Air Rover Scout Group organizes Independence Day Camp- 2019

To mark the 48th Independence & National Day of Bangladesh, DIU Air Rover Scout Group organizes Independence Day Camp-2019 on March 29 (Friday) at Permanent Campus of Daffodil International University (DIU) at Dattapara, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka for the first time in Bangladsh.

 
Department of English and DSA organized Workshop on "Learning Disabilities and Its Management"

The Department of English of DIU, with the support of DSA, organized a workshop on “Learning Disabilities and Its Management” on 19 March 2019 in the Digital Classroom of the level 4 of DT of the university. Ms. Bilkis Khanam, Psychologist of DIU, conducted the workshop as the resource person. The workshop was organized with a view to supporting teachers in dealing with students having learning disabilities like dyslexia. The workshop was organizedwith a view to achieving the following objectives: (i) to increase awareness of learning disabilities (ii) to make participants able to identify students with learning disabilities, and (iii) to make participants able to help students with learning disabilities by applying various management method.

 

Global Money Week 2019 ends with gala gathering of Bankers, Entrepreneurs, and Leaders at Daffodil International University

Ms. Faria Khan, Ambassador, CYFI and Ms. Amena Hassan Ana, President, CYFI Bangladesh Chapter were present as special guests. Mr. K m Hassan Ripon, Convener, Global Money Week 2019 & Ambassador, CYFI conducted the program.
The celebration program covers, Talk session, Master Class, Panel Discussion, Money Museum Visit, Selfie Challenge, essay writing competition and so on.

 
CSE Department organizes ‘Take Off Programming Contest Spring 2019’ at Daffodil International University.

Computer and Programming Club (DIU CPC) organized ‘Take Off Programming Contest Spring 2019’ on 29 March 2019 at DIU Dhanmondi Campus.DIU Take Off Programming Contest is organized for the 1st and 2nd semester students so they can get a taste of competitive programming from the very beginning of their University life. The contest is arranged to create the best and skilled artisans in the field of programming and to provide a right idea of programming and to get inspired, motivated and encouraged to think about their future.

Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the lunching ceremony of the book ‘The Story of Sakichi Toyoda & Prospects of Education in Japan’ in Bangali held today on 19 March, 2019 at 71 Milonayon of the university. Mr. Hiroyasu Izumi, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh was present the program as the chief guest while Ms. Machiko Yamamura, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh and Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University were present as the special guests. Presided over by Prof. Dr. Yousuf Mahubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU, the program was also addressed by Mr. Masudur Rahaman, Author of the translated copy of the Book “The Story of Sakichi Toyoda” and Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs. Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Engr. A. K. M. Daffodil International University has published ‘Survey on ICT Job Market in Bangladesh 2018’ in a publication ceremony, today, the 6 March, 2019 at 71 Milanayatan of the university. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Honorable State Minister, ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology was present in the publication ceremony as the ‘Chief Guest’ and unveil the survey report. Mrs. Hosne Ara Begum ndc, Managing Director (Secretary), Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority was present in the program as the ‘Special Guest’ while Ms. Susan Amat, Ph.D, Executive Director, Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Accelerates and CEO and Founder, Venture Hive was present as ‘Guest of Honor’.

Mr. Jeffrey Alderman, the President and CEO of The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) visited Department of Business Administration, FBE, DIUon 12 March, 2019.Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, DIU;Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean, FBE; Mr. Gouranga Chandra Debnath, Head, Department of Business Administration along with other senior faculty memberswelcomed him to DIU and had a meeting to discuss the accreditation process.

Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC) became Unbeaten Champion in ‘MJF CUSD National Debate-2019’

Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC) has become Champion in ‘MJF CUUSD National Debate-2019’organized by Chottagram University School of Debate in association Manusher Jonno Foundation. The final round was held between Daffodil International University Debating Club and Premier University Debating Society on 23 March, 2019 where DIUDC became champion. The debater of DIUDC was Al Mukit Bari, Omar Faruq Shimanto and Nazia Afroz. Omar Faruque Simanta of DIUDC became Debater of the final.

“Boomerang” got Best Film Award in Social section of 12th International Children’s Film Festival 2019

Short Film “Boomerang” got Best Film Award in Social section of 12th International Children’s Film Festival 2019. The short film was made by Wahid Raj, Udoy Ksllol Ridoy, Saurav Sarker, Nishat Tasnim Anika and Zakia Sultana Anandi. They are final year students of Multimedia and Creative Technology Department in Daffodil International University. The advisor of this short film was Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Allayear and it was supervised by Samaun Hasan. In this festival 179 films from 32 different countries were screened. Boomerang is a stop motion animation which features social awareness. The award was given on 08 March in Central Public Library. This award is a great achievement for both MCT Department and DIU.

 
Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab received the “Best Paper Presenter Award”

Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Professor of Law & Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science of Daffodil International University received the “Best Paper Presenter Award” in the National Seminar on Environmental Protection: A Socio Legal - Issues and Challenges held on 15th & 16th March, 2019 in the School of Law, IMS Unison University, Dehradun, Uttarkhand, India. The ecstatic two day event witnessed 4 technical sessions and a Skype session, which incorporated intricate recounting of diversified issues.
