In the midst of fighting against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) where there is no available treatment or vaccination yet, preventive and supportive measures are the only options in our hands.
According to World Health Organization (WHO), hand wash with soap or alcohol based solution for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands, avoid close contact with people who are sick, social distancing by at least 1 meter and using of mask where needed are among the basic protective measures against COVID-19.
(1) Watch for these symptoms of coronavirus: runny nose, cough, sore throat, fever, headache, and a general ill feeling. Stay home if you have cold-like symptoms or suspect you may have COVID-19. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands. Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that you touch. Drink plenty of liquids, get extra rest.
(2) If you feel you are sick you are encouraged to contact with IEDCR for further guidance.
Globally, it is a great challenge to combat it. Even though countries are taking stronger measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, self-quarantine and social distancing are also very crucial. Good nutrition is crucial for health, particularly in times when the immune system might need to fight back. For optimal health, it is also important to remain physically active. |
