On the Great Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day, teachers, students, officials, employees, and clubs laid wreaths at Shahid Minar of Daffodil Smart City in memory of language martyrs who lost their lives for the demand of Bengali as their mother tongue.

Mohammad Jahir Rayhan, student of the Department of Physical Education & Sports Science - DIU, has won the Silver Medal at the 11th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 400 meters Sprint!

Four DIU students from various departments who have been awarded the prestigious European Erasmus+ KA171 ICM Project Scholarship for the Spring-2024 semester to study in Turkiye, where they will represent DIU at İstanbul Kültür Üniversites

With a fully-funded prestigious European Erasmus+ KA171 ICM Project Scholarship, two DIU students from the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering and the Department of English moved to Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkiye to study one semester (Spring-2024).

Daffodil International University Press (DIUP) held a book wrapping and book unveiling ceremony of its six new books at Omar Ekushey Book Fair premises on February 23, 2024, in the presence of  Mr. A K M Mozammel Huq, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as the chief. 

The 35th Syndicate Meeting of DIU was held on 3rd February 2024 at the Conference Room of the university at Daffodil Smart City, Savar, Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Syndicate and Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman.

The Art of Living Masterclass with Major General Ashab Uddin (Retired) was an enlightening experience. From his own experience as a freedom fighter, decorated soldier, and former ambassador to Kuwait and Yemen, he took the participants on a journey in the realms of leadership, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence.

The Benefits of Blood Donation session was held which is aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and its significant impact on saving lives, organized by Daffodil International University Health and Fitness Club and Quantum Foundation on February 18, 2024.

The Daffodil Moot Court Society(DMCS) organized a grand Orientation Ceremony with more than 100 members at the International Conference Hall, Knowledge Tower, Daffodil International University on February 29, 2024.

Following the event, a demo Moot Court Competition was held between team prosecution and team defense, hosted by Abdullah Mohammad Kawsar, President of DMCS, allowing members to experience the thrill of legal arguments and procedures. 

On February 7, Daffodil Prothom Alo Bandhu Sabha organized the third lesson and friend chat of the year. The theme of this lesson, held at Banmaya in the green campus of Daffodil International University, on Jibanananda Das's poetry book 'Rupsi Bangla'.

KIIT - Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, India, and its visionary founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta (Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha), conferred a distinguished honor upon Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, the Honorable Founder & Chairman of DIU on January 28, 2024, for his exemplary leadership in education and commitment to fostering international collaboration.

A delegation of 31 faculty members and officials from Sukana Multiple Campus, Nepal , led by Mr. Keshab Adhikari, Chairman of SMC visited Daffodil International University on January 20, 2024. They explored the green campus and held a collaborative meeting with DIU management. This highlights DIU's global outreach to establish itself as a center of excellence.

Baroness Manzila Uddin from the House of Lords and Prof. Yu Xiong from the University of Surrey, UK brought their expertise to the table, lighting up discussions on the metaverse, global business, and study paths. Led by Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, DIU's academic heads & professors shone brightly. Talks buzzed around partnerships and the Mobility Programme. 

Dr. Ruslan Isaev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics at Ala-Too International University - AIU, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan conducted the Boost Your Startup with AI session at Daffodil International University. Ms. Turdukan Bekimbetova, Head of the Management Department at Ala-Too International University, further emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan, aligning with Dr. Isaev's insights.

Representatives from the University of Western Australia visited DIU to strengthen collaboration in joint research, student exchanges, and more. Prof. Anupama Rammohan from UWA Business School and Prof. Amitava Datta from the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering shared valuable insights.

On February 25, 2024, four delegates from Ala-Too International University - AIU in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan led by the Rector Dr. Zhyldyzbek Zhakshylykov visited DIU. They signed a new partnership agreement, marking a significant step in fostering academic connections between the two institutions.

On 20 February, Daffodil International University (DIU) signed a partnership agreement with Mid-West University (MWU), one of the first growing public institutions of Nepal to continue student exchange, faculty exchange, sharing resources, intern exchange, scholarship opportunities, etc. 

Expanding globally to enhance student opportunities, we've partnered with the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) to strengthen ties with Europe, recently. Dr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, President of EMA and Regional Manager for Asia at ENFP, Belgium. 

Prof. Franco Gandolfi joined as a Visiting Professor of the Department of Business Administration, DIU. He is currently a Distinguished Professor in Management at the California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) in Los Angeles, California. Apart from his academic hats and with over 30 years of experience in the education, finance, and pharmaceutical industries.

Prof. Dr. Kudrat-E-Khuda Babu, Head of the Department of Law, led an insightful session Global Citizens in a Nutshell at Mahasarakham University Thailand on Feb 20. Engaging students from different countries, the session focused on cultivating global citizens to address pressing issues like climate change, poverty, and education.

International Affairs, DIU, and Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) jointly hosted the International Seminar 'One Scholarship Preparation: Thousands of Worldwide Opportunities', providing insights into pathways to higher education via scholarships like Erasmus+, Marie Curie, DAAD, and others in Europe. 

A team of 8 delegates, including a faculty member and 7 students from The British University in Egypt attended a week-long ‘DIU Social Business Camp 2024’ at DIU hosted by International Affairs, DIU in cooperation with the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, DIU from February 20 to 28, 2024.

The Turag River Clean Project organized by the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management, DIU hit milestones!

Objectives met:
a) Cleared 1000 kg of plastic and debris from riverbanks.
b) Rescued 50 kg floating waste.
c) Inspired change! Locals and industries committed to river preservation.

The Department of Law, DIU arranged a seminar, "The Case for a Domestic Worker's Bill of Rights in Bangladesh: Preliminary Observation" which delved deep into the issues, identifying crucial components for change.

Crafting Success: A Career Talk on the Art and Business of Food and Beverage Management featuring Mr. Kazi Moazzem Hossain, Director of Food & Beverage at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka seminar hosted by Tourism & Hospitality Management, DIU.

From classrooms to crops! Department of Agricultural Science opens the doors to Field Lab 2, a space where theory meets practice. Professor Dr. Mohammad Rahim guides our eager students in this immersive learning experience.

The Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Bangladesh, organized a seminar on the Importance of Professional Qualification for Advancement in Career. The seminar aimed to guide potential DIU business graduates in choosing a dynamic career in accounting, audit, tax, and assurance services.

A case study focused on students from two batches of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, DIU addressing academic challenges such as preventing dropouts, ensuring attendance, and guarding against result disasters.

The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship has officially signed a MoU with Brac Bank PLC to introduce the UDDOKTA 101: Entrepreneur Accelerator Program which is a business skill development program for small women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh.

For the first time in the country, the Community Digital Storytelling Festival - CDSTF on Stories of Underprivileged People was held with the stories of the underprivileged, backward, struggling people, organized by the Department of Journalism, Media, and Communication, DIU.

The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship hosted two incredible sessions on Business Idea to Launch & Intensive Business Mentoring to fuel the entrepreneurial spirit among our students!

As part of our commitment to increasing industry-academic relationships, the Department of Business Administration, DIU organized a seminar on Digital Transformation and Risk Management in Banking on February 10, 2024.

4 students of Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil University, Deep (Head of Partnership), Mushahid (Team Member, Administrative Division), Alfi (Team Member), Swift (Team Member) are working on the first satellite project prepared in Bangladesh. About 60 students from more than 20 universities are working as researchers.

The Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, DIU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the framework for a partnership between DIU and ACCA recognizing their common commitment to advance the accounting, audit, assurance services and tax professions while encouraging their members' professional growth.

A seminar on the "Roles of the Tiles Industry in Enhancing the Luxury of the Real Estate Market" was organized by the Department of Real Estate, DIU under the Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil International University.
