Freshers Reception of Spring 2018 of Younus Khan Scholars' Garden and Female Hall of Daffodil International University Permanent Campus, organized by the students of YKSG, DIU PC was held on 13 February 2018.

Students of Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Daffodil International University organized an educational study tour to visit Khagrachori, Rangamati and Shajek Valley from February 15-17, 2018. 110 students, faculty members, administrative employees and their family members joined the tour.

Orientation Program for the newly admitted students under Faculty of Engineering was held on 19 February 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil Tower.

Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) and Member Board of Trustees along with Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, Senior Administrative Officer of International Affairs of Daffodil International University attended EURIE, EURASIA HIGHER EDUCATION SUMMIT 2018 from 14 to 16 February 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. In the conference, DIU delegation had around 50 successful meetings with delegation from different universities of the world for academic collaboration. The conference is bringing experts of Internationalization to share and exchange the ideas as well tieing up everyone for new opportunities. Hopefully the participation and meetings will bring a good number of Mevlana protocol scholarship, Erasmus+, exchanges, summer school participations etc for the students of Daffodil International University

Top management delegation team from Nanhua University, Taiwan visited Daffodil International University Bangladesh on 22 February 2018 with a view of sharing exclusive scholarship opportunities for the students of DIU and signing memorandum of understanding for academic partnership between DIU and Nanhua University. The visiting team was led by Lin Tsong-Ming, President of Nanhua University including Wu Wann-Yih, Vice President, Prof Chen Bo-Ching, Prof Hung Yao-Ming and Prof Lai Nhsin-Chih of Nanhua University

World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) the largest Angel investor’s forum designated Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family-ড্যাফোডিল ফ্যামিলি as the High-Commissioner for Bangladesh. The announcement and the Oath taking ceremony held recently at the WBAFWorld Congress in Istanbul, Turkey.

Dr. Khan has been nominated for this position for his outstanding contribution and effort in developing Entrepreneurs and for his focus in developing the national economy.

Mr. Nurul Mohammad Zayed, Head, Department of Real Estate of Daffodil International University was Awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for gracing the Seminar Titled :"Scopes & Opportunities of Real Estate Study & Business in Bangladesh"as Guest Speaker at Bulent Ecevit University, Zonguldak, Turkey on 14-02-18.

Ehatasham Ul Hoque Eiten, Lecturer, Department of English of DIU, and DIU alumnus, is currently teaching at KIIT University, Odisha, India under Training and Placement Department besides his PhD study at the same university. He started teaching Cognitive Aptitude Training (CAT) course for the third year students at KIIT in July, 2017.

Mr. Eiten completed his graduation and post-graduation from the Department of English, DIU in 2012 & 2014 respectively.Now he is pursuing his PhD in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics under School of Humanities, KIIT University, India. Daffodil Family wishes him a successful journey.

Amina Binty Islam Shuily and Nahid Sultana, students of Department of Business Administration along with Mahbub Sharif and Md. Feroz Ahmed students of Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Daffodil International University (DIU) left Dhaka on February 05, 2018 to study at Karabuk University (KU), Turkey under “Mevlana Scholarship Year 2017-18” for one semester. This is a full free scholarship that will cover all expenses of the student for one semester. Karabuk University, Turkey is an active partner university of DIU and exchanging students and faculty members for last 5 years with DIU

Sharmin Rima, student of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Daffodil International University (DIU) started one semester student exchange program at Suleyman Demirel University, Kazakhstan. She is the first exchange student from DIU in SDU, Kazakhstan. Ms, Sharmin will complete 4 different courses of total 12 credits which will be adjusted in her last final semester at DIU. After arrival she met Ramis Akhmedov, Director of International Relations, Suleyman Demirel University, Kazakhstan to share the greetings from DIU. We wish her successful study life in SDU for the semester.

Daffodil International University became Runner Up at the  EWU Winter Smash 2018 (Inter University Badminton Tournament) was held on 19 February 2018 at East West University's indoor space.

Along with the well-known ELT expert, Professor Claire Bradin Siskin, DIU faculty members Ms. Shamsi Ara Huda, Assistant Professor and Ms. Sadia Zafrin Lia, Lecturer, Department of English presented in the prestigious Thailand International TESOL Conference on “ Digital Literacy In English Language Learning And Teaching”, held at the Empress Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand during 26-27 January, 2018. DIU Alumnus Mir Sadia Siddiqua Sifat has also joined the group as a member of DIU LiveCode team. 

DIU Faculty Ms. Rozina Akter, Senior Lecturer of Department of Business Administration presented a paper titled:"'Testing Taylor’s Rule to Examine Monetary Policy regarding Bank Rate, Inflation and Output Gap of Bangladesh: 1972-2016' in the International conference on business, Economics , Education & social sciences (ICBEESS) 2018 held at East West University on 25th & 26th January,2018.

An Academic delegation comprising of faculty members and students from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Daffodil International University attended 10th session of The Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka which was inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh H.E Sheikh Hasina as Chief Guest.

Rtr. Rakibuzzaman, student of Department of Electrical And Electronics Engineering and Rtr. Sumunul Haq Shanto, student of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, two dedicated members of Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University are now attending “Rotasia Pune 2018” in Pune, India, from 22 to 25 February 2018.

The Chess Club of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the two-day Intra-University Chess Tournament titled “Battle of Brain” on 16-17 February 2018. The tournament consisted of five rounds; first three rounds were held at the Dhanmondi campus on 16 February and last two rounds were held at the permanent campus on 17 February. 

Two Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University, Rtr. Hasan Shahriar Shawon and Rtr. Nawshin Sharmily Chhonda are going to participate on Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA 2017-2018) at National Scout Training Centre, Gazipur Mouchak.

A team comprising of 10 members of Daffodil International University Cultural Club (DIUCC) attended the Riviera Cultural Fest-2018 at VIT University, India under the Cultural Exchange Program agreement between DIU & VIT. The team DIU stayed at VIT from February 14th to 20th, 2018 and performed in different events like dance, drama, and music.

DIU Marketing Club organized a unique Personal Branding competition titled “Mr. & Miss Marketing 2018” for the students of Daffodil International University on 13 February 2018 at 71 Milonayoton.

Mr. Shafin Ahmed, Music Artist, Miles , Ms. Meher Afroz Shaon, Actor & Direcotor Nushash ChalaChitra and Mr. Arif R Hossain, Founder of Amrai Bangladesh were the Judges for the Grand Finale.

Ms Sadia Islm Eti, student of Department of Business Administration won the title Miss Marketing 2018 and Mr. Rana Ahmed, student of Department of Textiles won the title Mr. Marketing 2018 after impressing the judges with their personal branding strategies.

Mr. Tahmid Ali Fahim joined National University of Judiciary Science (NUJS), Kolkata, India form 12 - 14 January 2018. He was adopting the role of Delegate of Egypt in UN Security Council Committee.
