H.E. Mr. Yousef S.Y. Ramadan, Ambassador to the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh from the State of Palestine visited Daffodil International University and held a discussion with top management of the university. During his visit, Daffodil International University offered Full Free Scholarships for 50 female students from Gaza, Palestine.

The ceremony recognized 1141 Scopus-indexed publications from 2023, underscoring the contributions of faculty, students, and alumni in advancing knowledge and addressing societal needs.

AWARENESS SESSION ON PREVENTING SEXUAL HARASSMENT

The Complaint Committee to Prevent Sexual Harassment organized an Awareness Session on Preventing Sexual Harassment. The session was facilitated by Professor Dr. Mehtab Khanam, a distinguished Psychotherapist from Bangladesh. The session uncovered how childhood experiences and attachment styles impact adult dating behavior.

Daffodil International University (DIU) and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in nurturing accounting, audit, and tax professions.

DIU Book Fair 2024 is organized at Daffodil International University with the participation of 22 publishers from May 6 to 7, 2024. DIU celebrated the remarkable achievements of its students in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Program. The program has grown significantly since its inception in 2013, with 49 enrolled students earning 70 Bronze, Silver, & Gold Awards.

IVLP: HIP HOP & CIVIC ENGAGEMENT 2024

Israt Jahan Rabeya (Tuku), a student of Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, DIU, joined "IVLP: Hip Hop and Civic Engagement-2024" in the United States from April 13 to 30, a prestigious U.S. State Department exchange program. Among 22 selected from 140 artists worldwide, she was Bangladesh's sole representative, making history as its first female rapper in the program.

NASA SPACE APPS CHALLENGE  2022

Our students from the Department of Software Engineering, DIU, who won the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2022, are going to NASA Headquarters, USA . This is the first time in the history of a private university in Bangladesh that we have won this global award and are going to NASA.

DIU STUDENTS SECURE 2nd PLACE in 2024 IAUP INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MODEL COMPETITION WITH HYDROZEN LABS PROJECTS

A team of 5 students from Tourism & Hospitality Management, Daffodil International University achieved 2nd place in the 2024 IAUP International Business Model Student Competition with their innovative project, HydroZen Labs! They will receive an award of USD 1500.

POWERING THE FUTURE: OVERCOMING THE ENERGY CRISIS WITH SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

A seminar titled Powering the Future: Overcoming the Energy Crisis with Sustainable Solutions was organized as part of the Bangladesh Studies: Socio-Economic Perspective course. The event focused on sustainable solutions and energy-related development goals, with active participation from 400 students, including 150 from 25 universities.

TREE PLANTATION AT AGRICULTURAL: LAB FIELD 2

The Tree Plantation Initiative at the Department of Agricultural Science, DIU in 2024 saw its inauguration on May 12th. The initiative, including the creation of the Lychee Garden known as Agriculture Laboratory-2, marks a significant step towards environmental sustainability and research promotion.

The Department of Multimedia & Creative Technology (DIU) successfully organized Bangladesh's first-ever Multimedia AI Hackathon. The event attracted 830 submissions in AI-Based Image Generation, 3D Modeling, 2D/3D Animation, and Game Development. From these, 23 projects advanced to the final round.

HIYE, A HEALTH APP FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE

Students of the Department of Software Engineering, DIU, under the supervision of Esraq Humayun Eisty, delivered "Hiye," a health app for indigenous people, to Prof. Dr. Md. Rakibul Hoque of the Department of MIS at the University of Dhaka. The ICT Ministry of Bangladesh funded this project, which the Department of MIS at the University of Dhaka and the Department of Software Engineering at DIU jointly completed.

 

AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY FAIR

The Department of Agricultural Science, DIU hosted an Agricultural Machinery Fair and Seminar showcasing BARI-developed farm machinery. The event educated students and faculty on the benefits of mechanization, demonstrated practical applications, and encouraged the adoption of these technologies.

CELEBRATION OF THE SUCCESS OF THE NEWLY ENROLLED ADVOCATES, 2023-2024 

The Department of Law, DIU, held a grand reception for 87 new advocates who passed the Bar Council examination. Former Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, the chief guest, praised the graduates for passing a particularly challenging exam and emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and practice in their legal careers.

The Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, DIU hosted the 5th JMC Media Buzz Spring 2024 colloquium, a platform for students nationwide to showcase their media work. Highlighting content creation for social media, the event featured two competitions: a National Photography Competition themed "Summer in Bangladesh" and a National 100 Second Content Creation focusing on "Child Labour in Bangladesh."

INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK at MALARDALEN UNIVERSITY (MDU)

Recently, Prof. Dr. Sheak Rashed Haider Noori, Head of CSE, Md. Shohel Arman, Asst. Prof. of SWE, and Md. Rokanuzzaman Roman, Sr. Asst. Director & SA to Chairman (BoT) at DIU, left for Sweden. They will attend the International Staff Week at MƤlardalen University (MDU) from May 27 to 31, 2024, under the Erasmus+ KA171 ICM Project. Their visit includes discussions on shared research interests, fostering collaboration, and strengthening ties with the MDU community and international participants. 

 
SPRING TECH EXPOSURE PROGRAM

A team of six students and a faculty member from Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirapalli, India, joined for a week-long ā€˜Spring Tech Exposure Program (STEP) 2024’ at DIU from May 4 to May 8. During this program, they gained experience through specialized lab visits and hands-on academic sessions covering topics such as 3D modeling, sensor-based embedded devices using IoT, implementation with robotics, data analysis, and more.

AN AGREEMENT TO SET UP IBSCC HAS BEEN SIGNED BETWEEN DIU & KIIT

DIU, Bangladesh, and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in India signed a groundbreaking agreement to set up the India-Bangladesh Study and Cultural Centre (IBSCC) at the DIU campus! On May 16, vice chancellors from both DIU & KIIT signed the agreement virtually in the presence of officials intending to strengthen academic relations, foster research and teaching synergies, promote youth engagement, and celebrate cultural diversity between our two nations.

Daffodil International University Change Together Club won runner-up position in two categories in "Folk Fest 2024" and the Inter-University Folk Art Competition (Folk Dance and Folk Art). Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP)  organized to maintain the continuity of the culture and tradition of Bengalis for thousands of years.

MANAGING EXAM STRESS

The Psychological Service Unit of the Students’ Affairs Department at DIU organized two successful workshops on "Managing Exam Stress" for the residents of Rowshan Ara Scholars Garden, DIU's female hall, on May 16, 2024, & May 30, 2024. The workshops aimed to equip students with effective strategies to handle exam-related stress and enhance their well-being during the challenging exam period.
