Furthermore, the university has achieved an impressive 106th position in Southern Asia and ranks 401โ450 within Asia among 857 universities. This recognition underscores DIU's unwavering dedication to excellence in education and research.

DIU Job Utshab 2023 has been organized at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka where 200 organizations are offering 3,000 jobs and 1,000 internships at this two-day job festival. Over 4,200 job seekers, recent graduates from various university departments, are here to seize career opportunities.

GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK 2023 (GEW) KICKED OFF AT DHAKA
|
|
|
Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023 has commenced in Dhaka, Bangladesh, featuring a captivating inauguration led by Dr. Bikarno Kumar Ghosh, CEO of the FBCCI's Innovation and Research Center. This program is organized by GEN Bangladesh in partnership with the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil International University.
This initiative aligns Bangladesh with the global entrepreneurship movement, fostering an environment to empower future entrepreneurs and shape the nation's economic destiny. The inauguration saw leaders from diverse sectors, including Dr. Sabur Khan, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh, and Iqbal Bahar Zahid, Founder President of Nijer Bolar Moto Ekta Golpo Foundation Bangladesh (NBMEGFB), displaying enthusiasm and commitment to support startups, aspiring entrepreneurs, and the broader

entrepreneurial community in Bangladesh.
The mission of this week-long celebration is to cultivate a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangladesh, marked by innovation, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. GEW 2023 serves as the ultimate platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and inspiration, enabling DIU students to participate in various events throughout the week, connect with fellow entrepreneurs, access invaluable resources, and learn from experienced mentors and industry leaders. Around 250 young entrepreneurs joined the opening sessions.
During the 2nd day of GEN Week festivities, a remarkable BDT 40 Million in funding was disbursed among three promising startups by Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, marking a significant milestone in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit within Bangladesh. The recipients of

this financial support include Paragon Pump Limited, Window Booking, and Foodio Limited.
The 16th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Bangladesh, a week-long celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation, concluded on a high note, leaving an indelible mark on the Bangladeshi entrepreneurial ecosystem. With the participation of over 78 partner organizations, this year's GEW featured more than 200 events across 30 districts in 8 divisions, reaching over 100,000 individuals directly and an additional 3 million people through online connections. A testament to the growing entrepreneurial spirit in Bangladesh, the closing ceremony saw the participation of around 600 women entrepreneurs.

36TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE ASSOCIATION OF THE UNIVERSITIES OF ASIA AND PACIFIC (AUAP)

With the theme โUtilizing Institutional Assets to Enhance Global Outreachโ, the ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ง๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐ (๐๐๐๐) took place at Siam University, Thailand, from November 16-17, 2023 in presence of around 120 participants from 79 universities and 23 countries.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University and President of AUAP, delivered the opening address to welcome this yearโs participants. Additionally, he presented a keynote address on โEntrepreneurship: Role of Universities in Developing Local Small Businesses and their Impact on the Local Economy.โ He highlighted the best practices undertaken by Daffodil International University to build a robust ecosystem for

aspiring entrepreneurs and discussed how universities worldwide can replicate similar initiatives.
During the conference, DIU signed several academic partnerships with universities from Hungary, the Philippines, Cambodia, and India intending to collaborate on mutual exchanges of student, faculty, and research development initiatives. The conference boasted a rich agenda, including numerous other keynote speeches from practitioners and academics, research paper presentations, panel discussions, and a research award ceremony, all aimed at promoting collaboration and cooperation among universities in the Asia-Pacific region.

4TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE ERASMUS+ CBHE HARMONY PROJECT

3-day long the 4th National Conference of the Erasmus+ CBHE Harmony Project kicked off at Daffodil International University (DIU) in Dhaka, Bangladesh on November 1, 2023, with the theme "Internationalization and Virtual Exchange: Borderless between European Union and Asian Countries", intending to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research presentation among participating institutions from around

20 universities from 7 countries, including Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Spain, and Slovenia. Manager (Asia) for Centralized Support to the Network of Erasmus+ National Focal Points, were with us to grace the ceremony. Following the opening, about 15 presenters from participating institutions shared different best practices, research initiatives, internationalization efforts etc. among the participants of the Harmony sessions 1 and 2 in the afternoon.

6TH DAFFODIL CAPTAIN CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT 2023
|
Lt. Gen. Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan, SBP, SGP, ndc, afwc, psc, PhD, Chief of General Staff of Bangladesh Army, inaugurated the '6th Daffodil Captain Cup Golf Tournament 2023' at Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) as the Chief Guest on Friday, November 3, 2023.
The tee-off was witnessed among others by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO, Daffodil Family, Major General Md. Zahirul Islam, SGP, ndc, psc, Master General of the ordnance of Bangladesh Army and Vice President, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General Md. Mahabubus Samad Chowdhury, BSP, ndc, psc, Club Captain, Kurmitola Golf Club, Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retd), Chairman, Tournament Committee, Kurmitola Golf Club, Dr. Nadir Bin Ali, Registrar, DIU and other distinguished guests from KGC and Daffodil Family.
The tournament saw the participation of approximately 700 male and female golfers, both from Bangladesh and abroad, competing in various categories.

21ST ASIAN UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS FORUM (AUPF)
|
The 21st Asian University Presidents Forum (AUPF) at Siam University explored "Higher Education by Design in a Disruptive Environment." With 57 participants from 17 universities, discussions focused on curriculum design, technology integration, and sustainable student activities, highlighting design thinking's transformative impact on higher education.

|
|
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University and AUAP President, contributed insights in panel discussions and keynotes, solidifying DIU's global commitment through agreements with nine prestigious institutions. AUPF 2023 showcased leaders' dedication to redefining higher education and fostering international collaboration, propelling the sector forward.

INDUSTRY VISIT TO SANYA, HAINAN, CHINA
|
A delegation team, consisting of Mr. Md. Mishkatul Kabir, Lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM), and Mr. Md. Abdul Alim, Assistant Registrar from Daffodil International University (DIU), recently conducted an industry visit to Sanya, Hainan, China. During the visit, they held meetings with key personnel, including Ms. Amy Liu, HR Director at Horizon Resort & SPA; Ms. Linda XIE, HR Director at the Sanya Edition; Ms. Jane Deing, Deputy Director; Ms. Tong, HR Director; Jessie XIE, HR Associate, from Hilton Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa; and Ms. Rella, HR Director at The Ritz Carlton Yalong Bay, Sanya, Hainan, China.

DIU team of five students from different departments joined the โGlobal Youth Camp 2023 โ from October 30th - November 4th, 2023 at Sias University. in Zhengzhou, China with more than 100 participants from 12 universities and 8 different countries. DIU students joined multidimensional cross-cultural activities such as archery, calligraphy Chinese Tea Culture course, Guqin course, Chinese culture & history class, fabric dying, making yarn from silkworms, and so on.
