Department of Real Estate, DIU, and Dwell Holdings Ltd. (DHL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)!

Under this agreement, students of the BRE program of DIU will have the opportunity to get internships, field visits, and placements with DHL. Additionally, the Real Estate Department and DHL will collaborate on various joint programs related to research and promotion of the real estate and housing industry in Bangladesh.

Md. Mahmudul Hasan Suzan, a student of the Department of Computing & Information System at DIU, participated in the "UMAP Discovery Camp 2023: The Globe (Global Bound & Exchange) Discover Indonesia," which took place from February 5-17, 2023. This two-week camp was hosted by DIU's partners, UNISSULA Semarang and ITS Surabaya, in Indonesia

During the camp, Suzan attended various seminars on topics such as smart cities, smart government, promoting a peaceful society, empowering women in healthcare, the challenges women faced during COVID-19, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also visited the Government City Office and high schools in Surabaya and gave a presentation to local students on smart cities and SDGs. 

Congratulations to five students from the departments of Software Engineering; Nutrition and Food Engineering; Law; and Electrical and Electronic Engineering of DIU - for being selected to participate in the Semester Exchange Program for Spring 2023 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia - UKM   one of the top universities of Malaysia and a partner of DIU. The program will cover their tuition fees for the semester and completion of the program, the students will receive international certificates and recognition and will be able to transfer their credits back to DIU.

Each year, students from different departments of DIU get the chance to participate in partially or fully funded semester exchange programs through a range of scholarships. These opportunities allow students to gain international academic experience, earn credits, become familiar with different curricula, build global networks, engage in cross-cultural activities, and more. The office of the International Affairs, DIU strongly encourages students to take advantage of these study abroad opportunities in partner universities around the world as part of their journey towards becoming global citizens. 

Congratulations to Raisa Fariha Shamma, a promising young student from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Daffodil International University, who has been awarded the prestigious Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) that will allow her to participate in a one-semester exchange program at Chungum National University (CNU) in South Korea during the Spring of 2023.

The scholarship is covering her academics, airfare, accommodation and meal costs. Upon successfully completing her studies in South Korea, Raisa will receive a certificate and transcript, and her credits will be transferred to DIU. Daffodil International University has always been committed to providing its students with exceptional opportunities to expand their horizons and gain valuable international exposure.

Mr. Mahbub Parvez, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Tourism and Hospitality Management, recently visited Çankırı Karatekin Üniversity , Turkiye under the ‘Erasmus+ KA107 International Credit Mobility Project’ to teach for 5 days from 13 to 17 March at the university, where he conducted several classes, visitations, and cross-cultural activities with other academicians Turkiye and abroad.

During his academic exchange visit, he had the opportunity to interact with students and faculty members of the university, sharing his expertise and knowledge in the field of tourism and hospitality management, tourism marketing, prospects in Bangladesh and more. Such contributions of his in teaching, visitations, and cross-cultural activities enhanced his teaching experience and strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions even further to continue academic mobility programs.

To celebrate Independence and National Day, Daffodil International University Library and Daffodil International University Press have organized a three-day long book fair from March 28 to March 30 at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia in the capital.

The fair aims to increase contemporary thinking and mental excellence among students and encourage them to read more books. Everyone is welcome to visit the fair, which will be open from 9 am to 4 pm daily at the ground floor of Academic Building 04 of Daffodil International University.

 Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Honourable Chairman of DIU and Daffodil Family-ড্যাফোডিল ফ্যামিলি, graced the event as the chief guest, along with Mr. Syed Alagir, a Legendary Marketer and the CEO of the Meghna Group of Industries and Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Pro Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) as special guests.

 The speakers highlighted the significance of marketing and motivated the participants to grasp marketing for their success. The guests appreciated the participants for showcasing their innovativeness and creativity in various events of the marketing fest.

The winning teams of different events of the marketing fest were awarded medals and prize money by the guests.

In addition, Syed Rohan Rezvi, a student of the 7th semester from the same department, was also awarded a certificate of participation in the Verse Writing Contest. The virtual competitions were held on 13th and 21st February 2023, respectively. The Poster Competition was held in connection with Women’s Day, and the Verse Writing Contest was organized in connection with the International Mother Language Day.

We are proud to share that the Bangladeshi contestants from the Department of English of Daffodil International University received high praise for their vibrant participation.

ArchFest-2023: Nouveau was a massive success! Congratulations to the Department of Architecture at Daffodil International University for hosting the 9th-anniversary celebration, featuring a fantastic exhibition of student projects from Fall 2022.

Honorable Chairman, Board of Trustees, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan inaugurated the exhibition and shared valuable guidelines to make the department one of the renowned names in the field. 

Expert talks by Architect Md. Moniruzzaman and Architect Saiqa Iqbal Meghna were the main attraction of the second day. Later, a discussion was held among the guests, chaired by Architect Nurur Rahman Khan, who shared their valuable insights and experiences with the students.

Overall, it was a fantastic celebration of academic works through an exhibition, and we're proud of all the students of the Department Of Architecture, DIU for their hard work and dedication. Keep up the excellent work!

The National Girls’ Programming Contest - NGPC 2022 was a huge success! Hosted by Daffodil International University's Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DIU CSE) and the Computer and Programming Club (DIU CPC), the event aimed to empower women and inspire female students to pursue careers in programming.

Over 400+ teams from across the country participated in the preliminary round, and the top 104 teams advanced to the main round held at Daffodil Smart City. A mock contest was also organized to give participants a taste of the real contest.

Congrats to the top 5 teams who won cash prizes, medals, trophies and certificates, and the top 10 teams who received cash prizes and certificates of recognition for their outstanding performance.

The Hult Prize program, organized by students with support from the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil University, Information Technology & Management (ITM) and Career Development Center (CDC) , DIU, recently held its grand finale at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka.

Congratulations! to the Champion team, Team Incognito, along with the runners up and second runners up! The winning team will go on to compete in the regional summit in Mumbai.

Distinguished guests, including Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar, Chief Executive Officer of the Group T, were present at the grand finale and distributed the prizes among the winners.

The Hult Prize program is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills and creativity. 

 A 2 weeks intensive workshop (19 Feb to 3 March) along with making of a documentary film named WHEELS OF HOPE has been preparing now by  Erasmus+ KA171 Exchange Faculty Marta Miaskowska PhD, Research and Teaching Employee, Department of Visual Communication and In-Charge of Multimedia Laboratory, Faculty of Design, from our very close partner university, Lodz University of Technology - TUL, Poland  with a group of students from the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, DIU and the Department of Multimedia & Creative Technology , DIU which is organized by International Affairs, DIU.

As part of the documentary making, she along with student team has been to many places in Dhaka to make a story for the struggling life of rickshaw pullers. Moreover, she has interviewed some scholars who have shared their valuable perspective about rickshaw pullers in Dhaka. Here's some glimpse of the making of 'Wheels of Hope' and workshop on campus.

Daffodil Leadership Summit_2023, organized by the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship at Daffodil International University, Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Dhaka

Around 500 students and teachers gathered at the International Conference Hall to hear from the speaker on how to become a successful leader. The event was full of valuable insights and knowledge-sharing for the next generation of leaders.

Founder and Chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh, and President of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific - AUAP, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan joined as ‘Guest Speaker’ at the 8th Annual Eurasia Higher Education Summit EURIE 2023 from 1 to 3 March, in Istanbul, Turkiye hosted by EURAS - Eurasian Universities Union. At the opening, Mehmet Muş, Honorable Trade Minister Amr Ezzat Salama Sumaira Rehman, Secretary General, Association of Arab Universities اتحاد الجامعات العربية (AarU), President of European University Association Dr. MICHAEL MURPHY, Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, Prof. Mustafa AYDIN Founder & President of EURAS & EURIE and distinguished guests from Turkey and other countries joined to welcome a hundred of participating HEIs from Asia, Europe, and many different parts of the world.

At the EURIE Summit, Dr. Khan presented the need for entrepreneurship, industry-academic engagement, and technology driven teaching best practices for the institutions to closely work with each other for sustainability. EURIE Summit is an annual international education conference and exhibition, connecting the dynamic Eurasian higher education sector to the world. EURIE exhibition offers effective networking, academic collaboration, and business development opportunities for the participant organizations.
 

Department of Information Technology & Management,DIU hosted a spectacular ITMSummit2023 at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka. The event was packed with a full day of activities, including an opening ceremony, paper presentations, panel discussions, exhibitions and much more!

 Our students had the privilege of learning from some of the most distinguished guests in the tech industry, who shared their valuable insights on upcoming technology trends.

Ayman Sadiq, Founder & CEO of 10 Minute School, recently hosted an interactive session on Communication Skills at the ITMSummit2023, held at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka.

During the session, Ayman Sadiq shared his vast experience and knowledge on how to develop effective communication skills.

The Department of Law, DIU.  held a discussion on "Role of Public and Private Institutions in Upholding Human Rights to Build a Smart Bangladesh” on 4th March. Honorable Justice Md. Jahangir Hossain, from the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, was the Chief Guest. The keynote speech was presented by Barrister Mohammed Mutahar Hossain, and Barrister Aneek R. Haque was present as a Special Guest.

 Prior to the discussion, students of the Law Department organized a rally on campus to promote human rights in all aspects of life. The Honorable Justice also cut a cake to mark the occasion. The event was attended by a large number of law students from different batches. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean (Academic Affairs), DIU, and attended by other notable guests including

Professor A.M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean (FHSS), Mr. Md. Bahalul Hoque Choudhury, Controller of Examinations of Dhaka University, and Professor Dr. Kudrat-E-Khuda Babu, Head (Law), DIU.

The 4th DIU Marketing Fest 2023 held at Daffodil International University with 500 registered students participating in various marketing events. The focus of this event is on the next generation of marketing and the key issues they will face, such as innovation, differentiation, commitment, and technological changes.

We were honored to have Professor Dr Mijanur_Rahman, Former Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University - জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, as our chief guest, along with Eminent Artist Mr. Afzal Hossain and Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) DIU Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal as special guests.
 

 This year 176 countries are taking part in this movement to create awareness among the young generation regarding financial issues. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is hosting this campaign globally which has already reached 176 countries and 53 million children globally. 

Daffodil International University and Bangladesh Skill Development Institute is the country coordinator of the event in Bangladesh and leading this campaign for developing smart young children with strong money management skills.

The Department of Software Engineering, DIU has just launched its new Data Science Lab! This state-of-the-art facility is packed with advanced computers and security systems and is open to all members of the data science club.

The DIU Robotics Club is one of the leading clubs of DIU, and their aim is to develop future tech leaders through their activities. This year, they have published a new committee consisting of 35 members from different departments of DIU.

The former president, Sajal Das, shared his working experience and provided proper guidelines to the new members. And new president, Md Shovan Parvez, delivered his commitment and shared the activities plan with DIU Robotics Club members.

The event was brimming with valuable insights for the next generation of leaders, and featured distinguished speakers such as Ms. Shamima Akhtar Khanom, SPHRI, Chief Human Resource Officer at Nitol Niloy Group; 

Mr. M. Shabbir Ali, Corporate Head of HR at Transcom Group; Mr. AKM Mahmudul Haque, Regional HR Manager for South Asia & Africa at Kontoor Brands, Inc.; and Ms. Umme Salma, Head of HR at Fortunex.

Dr. Md. Shibli Shahriar, Associate Professor, Business Administration moderated the panel discussion. Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, extended a vote of thanks to the attendees.

We were honored to have Ms. Selima Ahmad, MP, Vice Chairperson of Nitol Niloy Group, Dr. Nadia Binte Amin, President of Women Entrepreneurs Network for Development Association-WEND, and Ms. Kohinoor Yeasmin, CEO of Tarango as our distinguished guests at the program. 

The panel discussion was conducted by Dr. Md. Shibli Shahriar, Associate Professor, DBA, FBE and Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, DIU delivered the vote of thanks to the distinguished guests and all participants present there. It was an inspiring and insightful session for all who attended.

Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, Daffodil International University, has successfully wrapped up Day-2 of the International Conference on Economics and Leadership, under the banner of the "DIU Leadership Summit".

The event brought together distinguished guests, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Md. Kismatul Ahsan, and keynote speaker Editor in Chief – PSU Research Review by Emerald Prof. Mohammad Nurunnabi.

Career Development Center (CDC), Daffodil International University hosted a campus recruiting grooming session with Apex Property Ltd. (a USA-based company, one of the finest PropTech businesses in Bangladesh). We prepared students for the interview throughout this session.
