Daffodil International University (DIU) hosted a memorable Art of Living Parents' Day on November 22, 2024, as a part of their Art of Living course, strengthening the bonds between students and their parents through heartfelt moments. Activities included singing the national anthem, washing parents' feet as a gesture of gratitude, engaging in emotional interactions, faculty-guardian interactions, and a cultural session dedicated to parents.
Special Guest, Mr. Asif Iqbal, Founder of Ganchill Music, remarked, “We often realize the value of family bonds too late. My parents have been the inspiration behind all my creations.”

 Cyber Security Club, Daffodil International University has been recognized as a Club Partner for the prestigious HackerOne Bug Hunt 2024, organized by Bangladesh Cyber Security Intelligence (BCSI) on November 20, 2024. 

  Tarar Choturdoshi Nattothob-2024, the vibrant inter-university drama fest, lit up the stage at Daffodil International University, organized by the All Stars Daffodil Club on November 23, 2024. Theatre troupes from IUB Theatre, Jahangirnagar Theatre, and Titumir Nattodol graced the stage, each performance weaving a tale of passion and art.

  Daffodil International University’s Air Rover Scout Group proudly welcomed its newest Scouts with an inspiring Orientation & Certificate Award Ceremony. This memorable occasion was graced by Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Honorable Vice-Chancellor and President of DIU Air Rover Scout Group and Mr. Hamzar Rahman Shamim, Deputy Director, Bangladesh Scouts Air Region, who encouraged the new Scouts to lead with integrity and service.

  The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil University organized "The Market of Tradition (ঐতিহ্যের হাট)" in line with the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 themed "Removing Barriers and Welcoming All". This event showcased the rich heritage and iconic products of all 64 districts of Bangladesh, attracted over 50,000 attendees, and generated an impressive BDT 10 million revenue. First launched in 2022 under the banner of Branding Bangladesh, this flagship event promotes indigenous culture while inspiring students to pursue entrepreneurship.

  Tourism & Hospitality Management, DIU marked its 11th anniversary with a dynamic celebration, bringing together faculty, alumni, students, and industry professionals to honor the department's remarkable journey. The event featured a rally, two insightful documentary presentations, and a panel discussion with industry leaders like Mr. Mohiuddin Helal and Ms. Zerin Tasnim. Alumni and current students shared their experiences, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony and a vibrant cultural adda. 

  100 students from the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Daffodil University recently embarked on an enriching industry visit to Xclusive Can Limited, one of Bangladesh's largest can producers. This initiative is part of the department’s mission to bridge the gap between academia and the industry by fostering connections with entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and professionals. 

  WALTON Presents E-Business Fest 3.0, hosted by DIU Department of Management, brought together students, faculty, and industry experts for a day of insights, networking, and recognition in e-business and HR leadership. From career guidance by industry leaders to cultural performances and a celebratory one-dish party, the event embodied DIU’s dedication to real-world learning and innovation. 

  Meet Dr. Syed Ali Fazal, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at Daffodil International University! Dr. Fazal brings a wealth of experience, having served as Associate Professor and Dean at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. With a specialization in Management, he’s dedicated to nurturing global citizens and fostering entrepreneurship among students. His numerous accolades include the Young Research Award by GRDS and the Best Paper Award at ISEBT 2021. Welcome to DIU, Dr. Fazal! 

  The Department of Agricultural Science, DIU is distributing 2.5 lakh vegetable seedlings to support communities affected by recent floods. This initiative includes seedlings of Bottle gourd (লাউ), Wax gourd (চাল কুমড়ো), Chilli (মরিচ), Tomato (টমেটো), Brinjal (বেগুন), Knolkhol (শালগম), Broccoli (ব্রকোলি), Cabbage (বাঁধাকপি), Cauliflower (ফুলকপি), and more.
Already, 40,000 bottle gourd and 10,000 wax gourd seedlings have been distributed in Noakhali, and 15,000 bottle gourd and 10,000 wax gourd seedlings in Cumilla. In Lalmonirhat, 1,35,000 seedlings were distributed in two shifts. Another 40,000 seedlings are ready for Sherpur. DIU remains dedicated to aiding sustainable recovery and building resilience in flood-affected areas.

  The Department of Public Health, DIU has launched a Public Health Study Site in Bhabanipur, Savar, in collaboration with the National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh (NLFB). This initiative, part of the “Mission Toward NOhep Village,” aims to create a hepatitis-free, smoke-free, and plastic-free community. The launch included a rally, hepatitis screening for over 100 participants, and a discussion session led by health experts. A research grant was also awarded to support initial community health surveys, furthering DIU's commitment to impactful health research and outreach.

  Introducing Dr. Mamtaz Mariam Asha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at Daffodil International University! With a rich background in public health, environmental science, and telehealth, Dr. Asha brings extensive experience from her roles across universities and healthcare institutions in Bangladesh. She’s passionate about integrating Public Health and Yogic Sciences to address mental health and NCDs. Future plans include launching a Yoga and Preventive Lifestyle Certificate, a dedicated institute, and pioneering an MSc in Yogic Sciences, modeled after global universities.

  Day 1 of the Architecture Festival 2024, organized by the Department Of Architecture, DIU was a success! Students and professionals came together to exchange ideas, showcase projects, and dive deep into the world of architecture. From insightful seminars to inspiring student exhibitions, it’s all about learning, connecting, and sparking new ideas. 

  The Department of Civil Engineering, DIU, alongside the DIU Civil Engineering Club, proudly celebrated Civil Engineering Day & Alumni Reunion 2024.  This landmark event, graced by the renowned Prof. Dr. M. Shamim Z. Bosunia as chief guest, was an unforgettable day of connection and celebration. It featured a prize-giving ceremony honoring participants of the club’s recent tournament and a heartfelt crest presentation by alumni. 

The DIU Textile Carnival 2024 was officially inaugurated by Prof. M. Lutfar Rahman, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, organized by the Department of Textile Engineering in collaboration with DIU Textile Club. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including our Chief Guest Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Convener of the Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET).

  Financial Crimes:Emerging Challenges and Opportunities for Law Students. The Department of Law, DIU hosted this insightful seminar, led by Dr. Mostafa Shazzad Hasan, an expert in forensic accounting and financial fraud prevention. Dr. Hasan shared his expertise on the complexities of financial crimes and the evolving role of law in tackling these issues, inspiring students to prepare for the challenges of the legal field.

   II International Documentary Film Festival: "Time of our Heros" hosted by the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, DIU in collaboration with the Russian House in Dhaka and RT Documentary. The festival kicked off with opening remarks by Pavel Dvoychenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka. The event showcased a series of Russian documentary films, participants also had the opportunity to attend an exclusive masterclass on documentary production by Ekaterina Shubnaya, editor of RT Documentary.

  Daffodil International University (DIU) proudly joined COP29 Azerbaijan, with a distinguished delegation comprising Dr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Associate Professor; Ms. Samiha Khan, Lecturer (Senior Scale); and student representative Fatima Tuj Juhra Sadia. During the session titled “EcoCash Global Trade Hub - Towards Sustainable Living Community,” Ms. Samiha Khan highlighted DIU’s initiatives to raise awareness among students, preserve the environment, and lead sustainable campaigns addressing national and global climate challenges. COP29 aims to deliver actionable solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and safeguarding lives.

  The Sunnah Conference Bangladesh 2024 began with Religious Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain inaugurating the event as the chief guest. In his impactful address, he emphasized that living by the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SM) is essential for our personal, social, and national lives. Dr. Hossain urged the Muslim community to unite under the principles of Sunnah and Tawheed, as it fosters peace and resilience against division. The conference includes 40 research paper presentations and sessions on Sunnah and modern science, featuring researchers from across the globe.
